MUSIC- A Soul
“Bravo! What a soul touching music it was, I was lost in the moment.” Said the Ravi while sitting in the restaurant with his family for the dinner. Everyone was mesmerized by the hearth touching instrumental music played by the Sugandha. Everyone gave applause for the performance. Ravi then requested the manager to meet Sugandha to congratulate her. After a few moments Ravi’s family and Sugandha were in front of each other but when they congratulated her then the manager told Ravi that by birth Sugandha is incapable of hearing, so the manager will translate their wishes in sign language so that she will understand.
This was quite shocking to them that how a deaf person can play instrumental music so well. Daily she touches a number of souls and can’t even hear the applause. While everyone’s face was asking the question, she smiled and said “Thank you for liking my music. This appreciation boosts me to do better every coming day.”
Ravi asked the manager how she plays the music so well if she is deaf by birth. How come she now that it’s good or not. It’s unbelievable, I can’t rely on your words. Then the manager told that initially we also refused to appoint her as we thought the same that how can one not hear but feel the music. But then she requested us to hear her music for once and we were in the position of shock like you. After hearing her soul in her music we appointed her so that everyone coming here can feel the melody of vibrations, colours of peace in her soulful music. Every day some people relish her music and while leaving feel the depth of her music when they come to know about her.
Sugandha said “The words never matters if you have a goodful heart to hear, God blessed me that I cannot hear if someone is saying good or bad about me, if someone is abusing or appreciating, I only feel what I can listen from within, that is what I play. I believe if one has genuine heart one or the other day everyone understands. I don’t know if someone’s day is made by me or not but I make efforts for the same, this is what I can hear by their faces.”
Ravi questioned "If you can’t hear then why you have chosen this profession? Isn’t it difficult!” Sugandha’s answer changed the perception of everyone over there. She concluded, “I know I cannot listen but you can that is the power of music that if it touches the soul then I can hear it in your smiles. This is what I always wanted that in one or the other day I can listen someday and now I listen to it every day.”
From that day onwards Ravi and his family are not only fond of her music but also the soul and pious heart she carries. How she made her deficiency her strength. From then onwards they remembered Sugandha’s name that blossomed their lives with her music and heart with her generosity. Now everyone understood that music is a soul that can touch anybody’s heart.
