Bulb

Rajan was in hurry to find something when the light of the bulb dimmed and he slipped from the stairs. He got his legs fractured and was in the situation of unbearable pain. This has just happened before when his promotion was due, so now it seems to his family that he not only has to wait to be fit but also will take a bit more time to get promoted. He was advised to have the bed rest for at least 1 month. His wife was humble and caring soul so she cared like a baby to her. But somewhere deep into her thoughts sometimes she feels empty as she is the strength to her husband but had no one to share her emotions.

With the passing time, Rajan was recovering fast when his wife asked him if she can go out of these 4 walls and start working. She is fed up with doing these household chores and now wants to earn for her and family. Rajan smiled and looked at the bulb that made him realized the ground realities of life. Rajan not only permitted her to go and live her dream life but also start working in her daily works.

One day their relatives visited in vacations when they noticed Rajan cooking in the kitchen. They were surprised to see a man maniac person, full of arrogance and authority is working on the grounds of his family. They were in deep shock and were in chaos to ask him or not about this change or not. Rajan saw their face and read their mind. He prepared the evening tea for them and had a patient conversation with them and told,

“I always felt I am like a bulb, who lightens and brightens up everything around me. I am arrogant, I am responsible, whatever good is happening, it’ solely me and only me, until a bulb dimmed its light to add colours of love, compassion and care to make my existence in doubt. My legs were fractured and I am of no use anymore to anyone except to a woman who never uttered a single word to my arrogance, she was solely dedicated to assembling my rotten on the floor. If I am arrogant, I am in need, I believe that I am his master so I can do anything I aspire, but one day only she was there who nurtured me like a mother, loved me like a wife, cared like a friend, smiled like my daughter and understood like my lady. “My Lady” yeah!!!! That one month when I took the break I found if I am a bulb, then she is my power to bright up everything around me and I am thankful for that accident that taught me the true value of My Lady. Many of us ignore the tiny sacrifices in our ego, but now I feel privileged to help her in these small acts filled with love.”
